Join April Lavely-Robinson as she presents everything from the process of writing and illustrating, self-publishing, traditional publishing, submissions, agents and shares her own journey of becoming an award-winning illustrator.

Art Supplies: note taking materials like a pen and paper or laptop and a child-like curiosity.
April is a Colorado Springs native, wife and mother of two small children. Her fine art is featured in two local galleries. She attended Pikes Peak State College where she studied Illustration. In 2020, April illustrated a picture book for a self-published author titled The Changing Story, by Ahriana Platten which won silver in the COVR (Coalition Of Visionary Resources) awards and made the Amazon Best Seller list. Since then, she’s written and illustrated two of her own books. When she’s not painting, writing or spending time with family, you can find her rummaging around a thrift store or antique shop.
