Exhibition Details: Selected artworks will be showcased at UCCS Downtown for approx. four weeks in June 2024. Selected artworks will be prominently displayed and celebrated during this exclusive event.

Overview: The Pikes Peak Arts Council invites LGBTQ+ artists to submit their works for our Pride month art show, "Queer Narratives." This exhibition aims to celebrate the diverse and multifaceted narratives within the LGBTQ+ community. We encourage artists to share their personal stories, experiences, and perspectives through their artwork, fostering a collective celebration of identity, resilience, and self-expression.

Theme: "Queer Narratives" encourages artists to delve into the richness of their own experiences and the broader LGBTQ+ narrative. We invite you to explore and express the unique journeys, challenges, triumphs, and moments of joy that shape your identity. This theme encompasses a wide spectrum of narratives, from personal reflections to broader societal contexts, emphasizing the power of storytelling as a means of connection and understanding.

Submission Guidelines:

  1. Eligibility: This call is open to artists residing in the Pikes Peak region. All artistic disciplines and mediums are welcome.
  2. Submission Format: To submit your entry, please complete the Exhibition Submission Form on this page. You will be asked to provide the following:
    • Contact information
    • Artist biography or statement
    • High-quality images of your artwork (JPG or PNG)
  3. Deadline: Submissions must be received by Friday, May 3rd, 2024.

Selection Process: Selected artists will be notified by Friday, May 17th, 2024. Submissions will be reviewed by our expert curation committee, considering artistic excellence, originality, conceptual depth, and aesthetic appeal. Please note that not all submissions will be selected, and our committee's decisions are final.
