Courses for Creatives offers a variety of free and low-cost interactive workshops each year to help emerging and established artists with comprehensive, arts-focused training, information, and business skills. These courses are a collaboration of the Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center and the Pikes Peak Arts Council with support from Colorado Creative Industries!

April 20: Courses for Creatives: Cultivating Your Story

Thursday, April 20 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Tim Gill Center for Public Media West Conference Room

Learn how to best tell your personal story for marketing purposes, with Mark Bittle. What draws people to your work? What makes you relevant? How do you create a unique identity surrounding your creative mind? Thursday, April 20 at 5:00 p.m. at the Tim Gill Center for Public Media. $5 for PPAC Members. $10 general admission. June 8: Courses for Creatives: Creating an Interactive Experience

Thursday, June 8 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at iSpace at Citadel Mall

How do you create an interactive experience and dialogue surrounding your work? How do you explain your art and process? How do you interact with the public to create an experience and to cultivate the artist/buyer relationship? Thursday, August 17 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at El Paso County Citizens Service Center, Event Rm 1019

How do artists employ various social media platforms and techniques to gain a following, instill a brand, and increase business? October 18: Courses for Creatives: Local Artist Opportunities

Wednesday, October 18 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at S.P.Q.R. Experiential Art Space and Studio Gallery

A compilation of local artists and organizations will address opportunities that exist to showcase and exhibit work and performance in Colorado Springs.
